Explore Angel Fire
Angel Fire got its name from the Moache Utes. Seeing mysterious tongues of red and orange licking the morning sky, one of the elders claimed it was the "fire of the gods". Later Franciscan Friars interpreted "fire of the gods" as "the place of the fire of the angel".
There are so many things to do right here in Angel Fire! In the summer, hike on the many marked trails, golf, paddle board, fish, raft down the Rio Grande, ziplining, or drive the Enchanted Circle. In the winter, snowboard or ski at Angel Fire Resort, take a sleigh ride, or just relax and watch the snow fall! There's always something going on.
